What fertilizer to use in vegetable garden ?

What fertilizer to use in vegetable garden? The key to a healthy harvest is to prepare the vegetable garden soil with balanced fertilizer nutrients. You can opt for organic fertilizer or chemical fertilizer. If suitable fertilizer is not available in the near buy shop. You can always order fertilizer online from Saosis Shop. Always remember fertilizer, chemical or organic is an integral part of your vegetable cultivation. If you do not give fertilizer to your vegetable garden, your plants may not grow well.

Vegetable plants  need nutrients in the high quantity are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (p) and potassium (k). Except nitrogen and phosphorus other required nutrients are mostly available in the soil. Always fertilize your vegetable plants carefully. Adding extra nutrients results an imbalance of nutrients and also deficiencies of other nutrients. Over application of nitrogen can cause less production  and  also increase plant diseases and insect problem. Best before fertilize your vegetable plants  go for a soil test first.

If you ask what proportion of fertilizer should you give to your vegetable plants  then there is a common answer,  apply  1 pound of a 10-10-10 fertilizer or 2 pounds of a 5-10-5 (or 5-10-10) fertilizer per 100 feet of row. The first number is the percentage by weight of nitrogen, second  is phosphorus and the third is potassium.

Why vegetable garden needs fertilizer?

All vegetable garden need fertilizer. Water washes away necessary nutrients from the soil. So to replace the lost essential nutrients you need to fertilize your vegetable garden. Always remember using excess chemical fertilizer is harmful to your vegetable plants. However, if you are using organic fertilizer manufactured by Saosis, over fertilizing should not be your concern. Application of Saosis vegetable fertilizer is not harmful to your vegetable plants. The slow release formula allows and also support natural plant growth. Synthetic elements present in chemical fertilizer increase soil acid level. So maintain proper pH balance you should fertilize your vegetable garden with organic fertilizer.

How much fertilizer do you put in a vegetable garden?

Young plants have nutrients for an early  growth spurt if you apply fertilizer before you plant the vegetable garden. Apply  1 pound of low nitrogen fertilizer for fruit and root vegetable  or granular soil fertilizer for leafy greens over every 100 square feet. To move the applied fertilizer into the soil water the soil first.

As mentioned water washes necessary nutrients from soil, for that reason in growing season your plants need additional nutrients. So, apply a complete and balanced organic fertilizer. After one growing season, most vegetable plants die but Perennial vegetables need different fertilizer application as they regrow in every spring time. If you tend to add fertilizer frequently then it increases abundant leaf and stem production with few vegetables and fruits. Some vegetables need less nitrogen fertilizer as they are able enough to take nitrogen from air (like Beans and other legumes). It is Better to group plants with similar fertilizer needs together( such as legumes, perennials or leafy green vegetables) to prevent plant damage  from  improper fertilization.

Where to buy organic fertilizer in Kolkata ?

Buy organic fertilizer in Kolkata. Soil formation is a slow process. It takes several hundred years to form a good layer of the soil. This layer is of real importance when it comes to farming or gardening. Though it takes a lot of time for the soil to form, it takes one season to ruin that soil cover. It generally happens due to use of chemical fertilizers. Hence recent trends show an increase in the use of organic fertilizers. The city of Kolkata is no exception to this trend. Day by day many people and farmers are adapting to this trend. But most of them are not aware of the best places to buy organic fertilizers in Kolkata. SAOSIS is the best online platform to buy organic fertilizers. Here are the reasons why it is the finest platform in Kolkata and even other places.

What are Organic Fertilizers?

Organic aka biofertilizers are derived from animal and plant sources. They do not contain any harmful materials. There are 15 common Biofertilizers in the market such as poultry manure, animal waste, cow dung, alfalfa meal, cottonseed manure etc. Organic fertilizers improve soil quality, a structure of the soil layers. Organic fertilizers may have a few disadvantages like; they act a bit slow, an exact nutrient ratio is unknown etc. Overall, there are many advantages than negative points and that is why a number of people are opting for organic fertilizers.

Why go for Organic Fertilizers?

Organic fertilizers are very vital when it comes to conservation and nourishment of the soil along with crops. Chemical fertilizers have ill effects on soil and ultimately on crop quality. Crop quality directly affects human health as humans primarily consume agricultural products. Chemical fertilizers degrade land and reduce ground potential. When farmers get less output or yield, they are the great danger of economic loss. Chemical fertilizers percolate down the layers and affect groundwater quality too.

Bio fertilizers do not possess any threat to land or even groundwater system. They help in building and conserving an eco-friendly system. They supply organic matter and replenish soil resources. Crops get all the necessary nutrients naturally from nourished soil and they proliferate to their best possible extent.

There are many shops in Kolkata city which deal with organic fertilizers.  You will find them in every market but the problems associated them make the shopping very inconvenient. There are some shops which sell only in bulk quantity and do not sell according to your requirements. Remaining shops which sell in smaller quantities charge you more up to double the normal price.

Farmers, who have bigger chunks of land, they tend to buy fertilizers in big quantities. Hence they look out for wholesaler or bulk dealer. Great numbers of dealers are available in the market but they charge you a hefty fee for transportation and delivery. Instead, farmers can order organic fertilizers online, where they need not have to pay the hefty amount as delivery charges.

Small farmers or gardeners in Kolkata cannot afford to spend a lot of money on fertilizers. Hence, they look out for small quantity yet an economic option. Online purchases are easy and you can buy products any in quantity.

Online purchase and Industry

There has been a significant increase in the number of Rooftop gardens in Kolkata.  Rooftop gardens mostly have plants in the pots or they have a restricted area build for this purpose. Hence it becomes an isolated unit. It lacks an internal supply of nutrients as it happens in natural conditions below the ground. Hence, rooftop garden soil always needs organic ingredients, which can only be supplied via biofertilizers.

Many homes, IT companies, corporate complexes, schools, colleges, even Government offices have small gardens. All these institutions and complexes require various organic fertilizers. If they opt to buy offline then they have to spend manpower and extra money to purchase fertilizers. Instead, they choose to buy them online, which not only saves time but digital invoices are easy to maintain too.

What is the best fertilizer for pot plants

H3 How often should you fertilize potted plants?

H3 How do you fertilize a potted plant?

H3 Do potted plants need fertilizer? 300 words

Whether you are growing indoors or out, fertilizer is essential to the success of container gardens. The easiest way to go about fertilizing potted plants is by preparing a nutrient solution and pouring it over the soil mix. The fertilizer is absorbed by the roots and quickly adds what is missing from the existing soil. Even if your potting mix is perfect from the get-go, it will soon become depleted of nutrients as they are constantly used up by plants and leached out by watering. The faster a plant grows the more fertilizer and water it will require.

Container plants should be grown in a special potting mix that doesn’t contain soil. Garden soil is too heavy and may compact roots, cutting off their oxygen. It also often contains weed seeds.

Make or buy a soilless mix — one composed of peat moss or coconut fiber (coir), vermiculite or perlite, and other ingredients. A lightweight soil for potted plants needs to provide good drainage, hold moisture, and give roots room to grow.

seaweed extract fertilizer, seaweed extract liquid fertilizer, seaweed extract fertilizer suppliers, liquid seaweed extract fertilizer, seaweed liquid extract

Seaweed extract is used as liquid organic bio fertilizer because of it’s organic micro nutrient, NPK and Natural Growth Hormones content such as Cytokinins, Alginic Acid, Mannitol, Gibberellins. Seaweed is Used as Plant Growth Promoter for all Kinds of Plants

Seaweed extract is 100% natural, water-soluble, liquid organic bio fertilizer containing micro and macro nutrients, formulated from soluble brown Seaweed extract derived from vegetable kelp Seaweed. Seaweed contains a sufficient amount of oceanic bio-active matter such as Phycocolloid, Mannitol, Oligose, Polyphenol, Trehalase, Cytokinin, Betaine, Lignin etc which are essential for improving germination, root development, leaf quality, general plant vigor and resistance to pathogens.

Saosis Seaweed extract also benefits in flower set and fruit production. High quality of fruit have been recorded for many of both herbaceous and woody crop species. Increases in fresh and dry mass was recorded for tomatoes grown in jiffypots presaged with both water and alkaline extracts of Kelp. Seaweed has been shown to improve the leaf content of micronutrients, promote growth, and impart resistance to drought stress in grapes. The key point is that there is an increased economic benefit.

Nutritional facts:

  1. Nitrogen(N) + Phosphorus (P2O5) + Potasium(K2O) > 3%
  2. Calcium(Ca) + Magnesium(Mg) + Zinc(Zn) > 0.9 %
  3. Amino acids + Fulvic acid + Humic acid > 1.88%
  4. Aluminium(AI) + Boron(B) + Cobalt(Co) < 300 ppm
  5. Sulphur (S) + Iron (Fe) + Sodium(Na) > 1%
  6. Iodine(I) + Manganese(Mn): 500 – 800 ppm
  7. Cytokinins + Alginic Acid + Mannitol + Gibberellins> 0.5 %

Here is a look at the major benefits of using Seaweed Extract:

  1. Being rich in bio-activators (the ingredients for healthy decomposition) Seaweed is great for compost piles as it assists in speeding up the decay of other organic matter.
  2. Seaweed contains large traces of potassium and natural hormones making it a hearty fertilizer that strengthens roots and a plant’s overall system.
  3. It lowers vulnerabilities against diseases.
  4. Its smell repels many unwanted pests and insects though it unfortunately also makes earthworms temporarily run for the hills, which is noteworthy because worms are important contributors to soil composition. However, they don’t disperse for long and in the end the benefits of applying fresh seaweed out way this temporary situation.
  5. As mulch Saosis seaweed stops weeds dead in their tracks and keeps soil moist.
  6. Because SAOSIS seaweed comes from the ocean it doesn’t introduce unwanted seeds to the new environment like other mulches may.
  7. Improves the uptake of nutrients (CEC)
  8. Improves root structure and development
  9. Boosts seed germination
  10. Reduces fertilizer runoff
  11. Increases yields
  12. Prevents disease and heat stress
  13. Promotes healthier crops

What makes Seaweed extract different from other fertilizer?

  1. Saosis Seaweed extract fertilizers prove beneficial when doctored on the soil, delivering strength through vital nutrients. The Saosis Seaweed fertilizers are best administered when sprayed. Thus, liquid seaweed fertilizers have their own set of benefits. Here are the advantages that liquid Saosis Seaweed fertilizers would provide plants with: When the plant, from its neonatal stage, shifts to acquiring or developing buds, it is suggested that Saosis Seaweed fertilizer be sprayed gently on those buds to promote a healthy growth .
  2. We all love flowers. Having the flowers cut freshly, from the garden sod and placing them in an ornate vase, makes the ambiance of the house extremely enchanting and serene. We also wish these flowers preserve the freshness for days together. However, we do find their shoulders drooping the very next day. Well, your lovely flowers could droop a day or two later if you spray seaweed fertilizer on them a day before you cut them and detach them from the plant.
  3. If seeds are treated with seaweed fertilizers before they are sowed, the seeds will germinate better, have an increased growth rate and their roots will possess strength.
  4. A ‘fighter’ plant could be acquired if the seaweed organic fertilizers are doctored on the plant. The plant will display a higher immunity against diseases and pests such as green-fly, white fly and will have an ameliorated growth pattern.
  5. The seaweed will encourage vigor in the plant growth cycle as it consists more than 70 nutritional deporting minerals and enzymes.
  6. Seaweed consists of a sponge like porous part called the alginates , a type of algae. This part has a dominant role to play in the root system strengthening. The fertilizers when sprayed from the tip of the leaves to the roots of the plant, alginates holds the residue of the fertilizers near the roots giving them a comfortable access to moisture, without making them soggy and wet with mixture.
  7. Liquid seaweed fertilizers contain elements called hormones. They are Auxins , Cytokinins , Gibberellins and Betaines , required in minor proportions but they do contribute to the overall plant health. The auxins are a major hormonal component that regulates the speed at which the plant develops. Auxins, as hormones have a tendency to increase the growth or delay the growth rate of the plant. It also aids the flower buds to unfold at the right time.
  8. Cytokinins are another group of hormones in the organic seaweed fertilizers that judiciously distributes nutrients and minerals in the soil. The aging process in plants also known as the senescence, in plant taxonomy takes a backseat with the cytokinin content in the fertilizers.
  9. Liquid seaweed fertilizers has alginates that has a conditioning property when applied to plants. The soil has metal content with which the alginates react and form polymers that restore moisture in the soil when it gets wet.

Effect of Seaweed extract liquid fertilizer on insects?

The precise effects of the Seaweed on a given insect species are often difficult to pinpoint. plants treated with SAOSIS seaweed products develop a resistance to pests and diseases, not only to sap-seeking insects such as red spider mite and aphides, but also to scab, mildew and fungi. Such a possibility may seem novel, but it is in keeping with the results of research in related fields. The control of plant disease by compounds which reduce or nullify the effect of a pathogen after it has entered the plant is an accepted technique. It is in this way that streptomycin given as a foliar spray combats fireblight in apples and pears, and antimycin and malonic acid combat mosaic virus in tobacco. The subject of controlling plant disease by introducing substances into the plant itself is known as chemotherapy.

As far as chemotherapy through seaweed is concerned, the annual report for 1963 of the Institute of Seaweed Research stated that trials in which soil-borne diseases of plants were reduced by adding seaweed products to the soil were the first recorded instance of the control of disease by organic manure. ‘Hitherto’, the report ran, ‘the majority of agricultural scientists believed that the value of organic manures was restricted to their nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium content, with perhaps some additional value as soil conditioner. This new discovery challenges this over-simplified view of the value of organic manures, and has initiated a new appraisal of this very complex problem.’

The reason why seaweed and seaweed products should exert some form of biological control over a number of common plant diseases is unknown. Soil fungi and bacteria are known to produce natural antibiotics which hold down the population of plant pathogens, and when these antibiotics are produced in sufficient quantities they enter the plant and help it to resist disease. The production of such antibiotics is increased in soil high in organic matter, and it may be that seaweed still further encourages this process.

Why should you use Seaweed extract?

  • SAOSIS SEAWEED is an organic plant nutrients produced from Seaweed.
  • Saosis Seaweed accelerates the growth rate of plants and improves disease resistance. The effects of seaweed application have been tested on diverse plant crops including flowers, vegetables, bananas, tomatoes, citrus crops and potatoes and the results was outstanding.
  • Saosis Seaweed extract is rich in plant essential micronutrients, such as nitrogen, potash and phosphorus which are usually deficient in soil due to plants requiring and absorbing these elements in substantial amounts. That is why the plants need supplements to make up for it.
  • Saosis Seaweed promotes faster germination of seeds as well as better stem and plant growth. It also heightens drought and frost resistance in plants. The antibiotics in seaweed enter the plant system and improve disease resistance.

Why do plants need fertilizer

Plants do not need fertilizer all the times,if it gets enough nutrients from soil. most unknown fact is plants do not need fertilizer but soil requiers it.as we can see in forest no fertilizer is added  but plants get their growth naturally. plants get water, essential nutrient in dissolved form from the soil.plants need nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium for their proper growth.nutrient like nitrogen does not stick to the soil strongly, and easily washed out. What are fertilizers? which makes or prepare the soil  to be more fertile, adds essential nutrient is called fertilizers.as plants grow  they absorb all essential nutrient from soil leaving it less fertile.not only that most of soil does not provide required nutrients .Therefore we must add fertilizers.Due to soil pollution and human made disasters soil loses its nutrient quality day by day, affects our agriculture. To meet the increasing demand  of food  we need fertilizer.fertilizer increases soil quality and increases agricultural productivity.to protect  the plant from insect-attack,maintain  its proper growth  and productivity, fertilizer is needed.in flowering and fruiting stage we need to apply fertilizer to the soil to make sure that it does not lose its essential nutrient during the growth period.

Looking at the soil it is difficult to understand soil deficiency and most important plant symptoms are not reliable. To face the problem,a soil test is needed.According to the result fertilizers can be added.

Types of fertilizer

There are two types of fertilizer

  • Organic fertilizer
  • Chemical fertilizer

Which is best organic or chemical fertilizer

Organic fertilizer is natural, does not consist of any chemical material.we get organic material  from our nature. chemical fertilizer consists of chemical material.

Chemical fertilizer gives result very fast, but it also loses its power in a certain period.so,farmers have to apply it again and again. Manytimes it becomes costly for production. chemical fertilizers kill microorganism which is very important part of soil. if chemical fertilizer run off into any water body,it will harm marine life and also affects our eco-system directly.

Organic fertilizer does not give result very fast.It takes time to be activated to the soil.Farmers need to apply it from the begining and need to apply it in regular intervals. if you want to get a good result you     need to prepare  the soil first.it is not costly.Organic fertilizer mixes well to the soil, increases soil quality and agricultural productivity. It has no side affects, plant get recomended growth.organic fertilizer protects  soil micro-organism help to flourish agricultural activity.whether chemical fertilizer increases acidity level of soil, organic fertilizer reduses  acidity level and maintain required PH level.organic fertilizer fights against soil diseases, help to restore natural fertility containing fungi, microorganism in it.most importantly it reduses the cost and it is eco friendly ,easy to use.

FERTILIZER

  • FERTILIZER is ONE OF THE BASIC REQUIREMENT OF GARDENING . IF THE TREE  IS GROWING WELL NATURALLY , NO FERTILIZER IS NEEDED.TO IMPROVE SOIL QUALITY OR TO INCREASE SOIL PRODUCTIVITY,WE ADD FERTILIZER .FERTILIZE AT THE RIGHT TIME OF THE YEAR IS VERY IMPORTANT.

BENEFITS OF ORGANIC FERTILIZER

  •  Continuous USES OF CHEMICAL FERTILIZER  INCREASES  SOIL ACID LEVEL,causes soil diseases
  • Organic fertilizer  reduses acid level and maintain proper PH balance
  • organic fertilizer protect important micro-organism of soil
  • organic fertizer do not run off easily,it mix well with soil
  • if organic fertilizer run off into waterbody(lake, pond, river),do not  harm marine life
  • organic fertilizers are natural  and environtment friendly and safe to use
